Per the EPA’s Office of Air and Radiation: Dirt and neglect are the top causes of heating and cooling system inefficiency and failure. To ensure efficient system operation, it’s important to perform routine maintenance. A clean filter will prevent dust and dirt from building up in the system, which can lead to expensive maintenance and/or early system failure.

Advice:

Change your air filter regularly.
Check your filter every month, especially during winter and summer months, when use tends to be heavier.
Change your filter if it's dirty— or at least every three months.

As a service to you we have created an easy to use filter change reminder. Simply select how frequently you want to change your filters and enter your e-mail. You will automatically receive a friendly reminder to change your filter every 30, 60, or 90 days.

Here are some guidelines on whether to choose a 30, 60 or 90 day reminder:

30 Days:	90% of manufactured filters are made of PAPER. Our humid climate promotes mold, mildew and bacteria growth, which paper filters easily absorb. No matter the cost of the PAPER filter, or how clean it may appear, it is best to replace it every 30 days.
60 Days:	Polyolefin type filters do not absorb moisture, therefore making it resistant to mold, mildew and bacteria growth. These types of filters may be replaced every 60 days under normal use. FantasticFilters_BulletPoints.pdf
